Esa Juhani Ruoho has lived in Kontula for most of his life and also records as Lackluster.

Esa Ruoho is his ambient project, and consists of drones, pulsations, noises and warbles mixed in with various found sound materials. he was informed by Clair Poulton (of deFocus) to not release "Spaces" as Lackluster because it would have been too confusing, and thus this sideproject was formed.

Esa Ruoho has used the software 'Audiomulch' exclusively on Spaces CD
and Places CDr consists of songs composed using Ableton Live, Logic Audio Platinum and Reaktor.

Esa Ruoho has supported Biosphere in Rovaniemi in 2004 and played at the Klusa Daba -ambient festival in Riga, Latvia in 2007.

He is currently working on getting a followup album, "On The Hangar of Spaceship Earth" released on a label that would release his ambient drones on it..
